Give the Gift of Community
These are weird times. So many questions swirl around our traditions and celebrations. People are isolated and uninspired at a level that we have never seen before.
Stumped for what to do this holiday season for your friends and family? How can we show our care and concern for the isolated people in our lives? We may not be able to be together in the same space this holiday — but we can see each another from a distance or via a Zoom meeting. Why not enjoy a course together while we wait for a vaccine or other COVID preventative?
We have set up an option on our website to gift a course or courses with Your Teachable Moment. You can choose digital gift cards ranging from $10-$100 which allow your friend or loved one to choose any of our available courses. If you are reading this, you already have interest in our platform — and I have a few things to tell you about the formation of our business.
Our guiding principals include the following:
- You will gain valuable knowledge or an enriching skill in an interactive and live classroom.
- We offer a place for people to build a new community of learners and instructors.
- We bring people together around a common topic which lessens isolation.
- We always offer respect, timely responses, and strength-based feedback.
If the backbone of our business sounds like something you can get behind, or endorse enough to gift, then please purchase a gift card for your people. We have passionate instructors waiting to welcome you into our community.
We already have several courses scheduled into January, and many more are flooding in! You will surely find something that will interest the people in your life. In addition, you can suggest a course on our website if you do not see what you want offered. All gift cards are in dollar amounts and not course specific, so your recipient can choose what class or classes they are most interested in taking. Even better — plan to attend a course together!
Some of the courses that are already on the calendar for January are Triathalon training 101 &102 with Suzanne Beltz. Suzanne is fit and ready to guide and motivate you if you are hoping to get running, biking, and swimming in the spring. Brooklyn Walter will be starting more sections of her popular American Sign Language courses. Check out our Instructor Spotlight blog post on Brooklyn to learn for yourself what is special about her instruction. If you are hoping to get more familiar with budgeting and figuring out where your money goes, Brooklyn will help you set up a system. I wish I had that skill! Money just falls out of my hands. If art is more your thing, make sure to check out Lisa Walker’s watercolor and video editing courses.
You and your friends are sure to find something to learn about here. We add new and varied courses every week, so keep checking back to see what is new. We constantly update our social media with current and upcoming classes, so make sure you follow us!
