Madonna Davis

I am an award winning genealogy researcher having won a Telly Award, the Illinois State Historical Society Award of Superior Achievement, and an Emmy Award nominee in the Midwest region for the documentary “Legend Seekers; The Lively Family Massacre which was shown on PBS stations around the country in 2009 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNx2C5KUTdE&t=25s). I have been researching genealogy for 20 years both personally and professionally; working for The Newberry Library in Chicago, Naper Settlement in Naperville, IL and The Polk County History Center in Bartow, Florida.

I am also a certified teacher with 21 years of experience with a Master's of Library and Information Sciences from The University of Illinois @Urbana/Champaign and a Master's of Education in Instructional Technology. Through my research I have found soldiers, Baptist preachers, coal miners, farmers, business men, cattle merchants etc. These men, woman, and children lived through wars, epidemics, fires, economic collapse and the growth of a nation. Are you ready to shake your family tree? Join me and we'll see what falls out!
