Hello! I am a lifelong lover and learner of all things visual art. My artistic journey began as a teenager, when I apprenticed with a married couple who are studio jewelers. In their work, they sculpt miniature people and animals, then cast them into silver and gold. They took me under their wing, taught me how to make jewelry, and I met their friends, many of whom are working artists.
This early exposure to art and artists shaped my life. I went on to earn a BFA in Ceramics from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. In my own art practice, I enjoy making sculpture from air dry clay and painting with watercolors.
I co-own a mobile and online art studio Pop up Art School through which I've taught over 400 art workshops in public libraries, to kids teens and adults. At the start of the pandemic, I joined Outschool, an online learning platform for children. In addition, I'm certified to teach Visual Arts in the state of Massachusetts.
I believe that everyone is creative and art is a skill that can be learned no matter your age. My goal is to create a space for my students that feels safe and supportive. I want you to explore materials, techniques, learn how to problem solve and listen to your inner creative voice.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy traveling and exploring art and natural history museums, taking walks with my family and dog, and I relax by practicing tai chi.
